My Story
As a professional, most of my adult life has been focused on working with men and boys in a variety of different settings. First, as a baseball coach and trainer I worked with professional and amateur baseball players to help them reach their goals on the field. It was here that I first realized that the things holding them back from reaching their on the field dreams were not how hard they threw or how hard the hit the ball, but internal issues such as lack of confidence, low self worth and shame. From my coaching career I entered the mental health field and worked at a residential home for young men where I helped them learn the coping skills and life skills to be productive members of society and help heal their inner wounds.
Next, as I continued my path in graduate school, I realized that the traditional psychotherapy tools and theories were not made for men and often made them for more alienated and alone. Throughout my professional career, I have developed a style made specifically for men and the issues they face.

This quote isn’t true… but sometimes it sure feels true.
"Only women, children, and dogs are loved unconditionally. A man is only loved under the condition that he provide something."
